Kyla & Franz

Welcome

Kyla and Franz back to back Kyla Lingley is a Canadian soprano and during her studies in Ontario won the Inco Search for Excellence Award vocal prize. Franz Hepburn is a bass-baritone from The Bahamas and a finalist from Channel 4's award winning Operatunity television programme. The vocal duo met while studying on the Opera Course at Morley College in London a decade ago. While at Morley, they studied with Sheila Thomas and Sandra Gelson. The pair appeared alongside Katherine Jenkins at a pre-match performance for the Powergen Challenge Cup Final at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff in 2004.

While singing a duet at an event in 2008, Kyla & Franz were so overwhelmed by the public's positive feedback that they decided to embark on a new vocal journey. It is very rare in the classical music world to have a soprano and bass sing together (duets) because the voice types are at different ends of the vocal spectrum. However, the duo are not at all conventional in their approach to music.

Their repertoire can be defined as popular classical music, but Kyla & Franz see as their main mission to uplift and inspire people through music. As music plays such an integral part of our lives, their core belief is to use their voices to help others wherever possible.

In 2011, Kyla and Franz will do a mixture of concerts, corporate events and some outdoor performances in towns/city centres to support various UK charities.
